I have learnt from our video feedback that our music video was enjoyable and fun to watch. There were aspects of the video which we could have improved. For example the lack of change of scenery, little lip singing, and outfit change. But a positive was the various camera angles, shots and quick editing. I have learnt that we should have tried to get all the filming done on the same day, because the lighting changes and we was not able to make the contrast the same, which was shown through the video. We could have used a blue screen to then use an animated background to improve the lack of scenery, and we could have shot scenes in various different places, to make the video more appealing. Our music video did fit the genre we wanted to put across in the digipak, magazine advert and music video. The digipak was eye-catching and bold as well as the magazine advert. They were very appealing and fitted the theme that we wanted to show. We were complimented on our costumes, dancing and how we put the video together, by fast cuts and the fun friendship aspect. We were also complimented on showing our friendship throughout the whole media products (digipak, music video and magazine advert) which we strongly wanted to perceive.

Overall I think with the feedback that we retrieved our media product was a success but with room for improvement. I am happy with the end result and hope you enjoy it too!

Making my music video, it has given me a chance to explore my skills  and gained new skills when using the computer macs, and a range of programmes, such as final cut pro, photoshop, slideshare, and prezi. I am proud of my end product and thankful for given the chance.

Using final cut pro - at this stage we were in the middle of the editing stage putting in fast cuts, and adding the lip singing in.

Equipment and Location

Characters Profile

My magazine cover for my group

This magazine cover was designed based on our music video idea. We tried to incorporate the idea by wearing dresses and a clubbing type of dress. We used photoshop to cut out the images our ourselves to place it onto a simple black coloured background. we then added texts to attract attention from our target audience, and the texts gives information about our single.

My digipak for my group

Our digipak represent our personalities, and the name of our group. It lists the titles of the songs on our album, and the name of the album. We chose six good photos of ourselves to use after we did a photoshoot in the studio, this time using a black background as opposed to the white background in our music video. We placed some text on one of the photos regarding some thanks and appreciation for those names listed to make our digipak more personal.

Screenshots of working on the macs - final cut pro

These are just a couple screen shots of us on the macs working on our music video editing stage. The last editing day on our music video putting in any effects that we wanted to include, also the second image is the footage of our feedback video from the viewers, being edited in order to use this with our answer to question three.  We were using final cut pro with all our editing footage because we had previously used it for another project, so we knew the programme well enough.

Treatment

My overall idea of my music video will be an entire dance video, which I thin highlights our positive skills. I got the idea of this video by watching the original video to the song that I had chosen.

The way that I wanted my video to be was four girls in total dancing but for the dance video not to always show the four girls. I think this was best to do for the song that I had chosen because it followed the lyrics of the song, which made it easy. The way me and my partner decided on the song was by listening ot numerous amounts of songs and viewing their music videos. This narrowed down our ideas and pointed us into the direction that we wanted to go in.

Choosing our setting and locations were a bit difficult because we couldnt always use the places that we wanted to. Originally we wanted to use about three to four different settings and locations with different characters, but we had to cancel that idea because it was always difficult to film in certain areas. We then chose to just film in one location, simply using the studio for a white background to our dancing, and this worked well.

I think the music video that I made was a typical music video with the fast cuts, camera angles, dance moves and lip singing.

I am pleased with the results of my final music video and proud to show it off to others, recieving any feedback and taking critism well.

Filmed some scenes for more footage to be able to make our music video better, we stayed late after college to film in the studio with our characters and finally ended the footage that we needed, with the lip singing.

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

Today we had to re-shoot scenes because the first set of footage wasn't good enough to use, and we though we could do a better job, so the next set of footage we recorded was much better and decided to use it. We filmed in the studio at college with our outfits and all our characters.
